Kirsty has experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties.
Her specialist areas are:
- Anxiety (including OCD, intrusive thoughts, social anxiety, phobias, PTSD)
- Trauma (including birth trauma)
- Peri and postnatal depression
- Adjustment to parenting Difficulty with bonding
M.A. (Hons), PGDipClinPsych
Kirsty qualified in 2001, and since then has worked in both adult community and maternal mental health settings. She is registered with the NZ Psychologists Board in the Clinical Scope of practice and is a member of the NZ Psychological Society.
Kirsty’s primary therapy models are CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) depending on client preference and identified goals. She also has experience using DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy) and Circle of Security-Parenting approaches.
