I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist and have many years of experience working in child and adolescent support services. I have worked at the Leslie Centre (Presbyterian Support) and also on the SAFE Programme, as well as providing outdoor wilderness therapy for youth offenders. I have worked with young people under the care of Oranga Tamariki for 30 years.
I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. I mostly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Family Systems interventions. I take a pragmatic approach to solving problems. I also see some clients for longer term psychotherapy.
I currently teach Clinical Psychology part-time at the University of Auckland and I am also Chief Science Advisor for the Justice Sector. I am a consultant to the Department of Corrections, Oranga Tamariki, New Zealand Fire Service, and the Ministry of Education. This all means that I have a busy life and so only work part-time in private practice.
